Description
Despite the plethora of incredibly talented entries, I've decided to enter my modest spacescape into this competition. Comments and critique are welcome, I'm always willing to learn. 
In this image, the star is rather appropriately the center of power. In our own solar system, roughly 99.8% of the energy is focused in, and emanates from, the sun. When the nuclear fusion reaction goes wrong, the results are nothing short of apocalyptic, as the poor planet in the image will attest to.

Wow, with paint.net. I use Gimp. Its also freeware but I think gimp is much better than it. I could never do something like this with Paint.net
